Access Statement For Pear Tree Farm, Wigmore, Herefordshire HR6 9UR
Introduction
Pear Tree Farm is a 17th and 18th century Grade II listed farmhouse. As a four hundred year old house we have a variety of door widths, steep stairs and uneven floors.
Pre-Arrival
You can contact us for any information that you require that you cannot find on our website by calling us on 01568 770 140 or emailing
steveandjill@peartree-farm.co.uk. We will do our best to satisfy your wishes. Please understand that our house is old and includes steep stairways and bedrooms on different levels. We offer a ground floor ensuite apartment - the Cider House - that is suitable for guests with limited mobility. We are a no-smoking house.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
We offer ample gravelled parking spaces for up to 7 or 8 cars. We are glad to escort you from the parking area to the house with umbrellas in inclement weather. We are happy to help you in with your luggage and to escort you to your room. Please note that we have our own pets, two dogs and a cat, and cannot, therefore, accommodate guests' pets.
Main Entrance & Reception
Our ground floor is accessed through the main front door directly from the gravelled area surrounding the house. This
leads to the Hallway, Sitting, and Dining rooms as well as the downstairs cloakroom
and WC, and the Cider House (via a narrow doorway). These are all on one Ground Floor level.
Public Areas
All our ground floor rooms are on one level and are surfaced in oak board,
flagstone or carpet, with a maximum lift between surfaces of 50mm (2
inches).
Communications
Most mobile phones don't work, though Orange works in the garden. You are welcome to use our landline (please ask first). We also offer free
Wi-Fi access for your laptop, pda etc in some of the rooms.
Bedrooms
We have three bedrooms, two of which are up a steep flight of 11 stairs.
You will find photos of all our rooms elsewhere on this site.
The Barn Bedroom is up a further three steps from the landing, and has an ensuite shower all on one level with carpeted and tiled floor areas.
The Sea Room is also up three steps from the landing and enjoys a separate private bathroom (the Red Bathroom)
back down three steps and across the landing. The floors are carpet, wood planking and rugs. The Red Bathroom has a slipper bath.
The Cider House is on ground level, has an ensuite shower-room, and has wood, ceramic tile and vinyl floors that are all on one level. This room is either accessed by two steps to its own external entrance, or on a flat level from the main hallway via a narrow door.
Grounds and Gardens
We enjoy two acres of garden, incorporating lawn, orchard, copse and formal beds. There are hammocks, swing seats, tables and chairs distributed around the garden
for guest use.
Special Diets
We are happy to provide menus for most special requirements by prior arrangement.
