Ludlow, 7 miles from Wigmore, is a mediæval market town which grew up in the shadow of the 11th century castle. The streets still follow their ancient pattern and there are 100's of listed buildings. Ludlow has a thriving market, 5 butchers, 3 bakers, and a brewer.


The Small Breeds Farm Park, just south of Kington, is home to a veritable mini safari park. It also houses one of the few complete collections of British owls.
