Spring! The spring sunshine has opened up lots of snowdrops, hellebores and early daffodils and very early little lambs this year ... they are bouncing about in the fields already, playing tag without a care in the world - a bit like us really! The really good news is that the builders have gone and we understand that the new bathroom in the cider house is dazzling - we'll sneak a look while no one is looking.
We've already had lots of lovely sunny forest walks and can't wait for the summer when it's light 'til late, cos then we get played with all day and almost all night too. Nothing beats lying in the hammock with a glass of fizz and throwing a ball for me and Mol - honest. Lots of house parties booked in this year already ... we love house parties cos we can join in and have lots of fun and hopefully some leftover sausages! Key dates for your 2008 diary are: The Ludlow Festival: Saturday 21st June to Sunday 6th July - this year's play in Ludlow Castle is Richard III - very apt as it was the principal residence of the little Princes - Edward and Richard. If the bard is not to your liking then there are plenty of other things going on from The Opera Babes in concert to Humphrey Littleton and his band! Shobdon Food Festival 28 - 29 June: a small festival but with lots of very local goodies and a good opportunity to look around the wonderful church - and they let dogs in! (Note that they have a plaster cast of the tympanum from Shobdon Arches in the V&A - cultured little dogs that we are.) The now very famous Ludlow Food Festival is 12 - 14 September; this is getting bigger every year, sadly we are not allowed to go but we always get a treat brought back! They should really include a sausage trail for dogs! Herefordshire Food Festival 25 - 26 October: this will be the third year and again lots of wonderful local produce to taste and buy. Not wishing to think about Christmas already but The Medieval Fayre this year is 29 - 30 November, we are allowed to go to this and it's fab! Particularly the venison burgers! Just before I sign off I am very excited to tell you that according to National Geographic we are the most intelligent dogs in the whole world! Well, we knew that already, but now everyone else does too. Have a wonderful year and we hope that we will see you soon. |
